When you do not know the name of the butterfly, it is easy to flip through the pages to locate color and then the correct picture. This book is just barely under 11" tall and 8 1/2 wide. It contains a lot of info on each page. It is 95 pages from start to finish, so is not thick. But it is well worth the purchase.All in all, this is an excellent resource for those of us who love Butterflies! The pictures are very good, in my opinion. Everything is well organized and presented for easy comprehension. This is primarily a book for Butterflies living in or visiting the United States.I would heartily recommend this for all ages. Even the children who cannot read can see the pictures and learn butterfly identification with the aide of someone who can read. What a good family past-time is Butterfly watching!

This book is very good. Lot of color and identifies plants for food and plants for egg laying. Lot of "How-To" for folks that want to help nature . How a back yard can be useful and help the world of nature. Just good advice and good way to get young peopleinterested in the small world that can exist near us.
