Bought this book for my husband for Christmas. He enjoyed reading about the Great Northern Railroad and how they built the west.
All Aboard for Glacier is a we done book about the Great Northern RY and Glacier NP. The history and the bond between the two from the beginning has been rewarding for them both and the general public of America. Awesome pictures of the Park and the Lodges. Recommended for rail fans and travelers to read before going to Glacier Park.
Good coffee table book. It's colorful, has lots of pictures and some interesting history. The best part is it's much cheaper on Amazon than the gift shop at Glacier National Park.
Wonderful illustrations and delightful writing. Big thumbs up.

Very well researched & interesting read
This was a nicely done book about the history of Great Northern in general in addition to highlighting how important the development of the U.S. was on the railroads. I like old advertising images and this book has a nice selection of the ads that enticed people to venture into desolate areas for the shear beauty of the country. Many of these people decided to call these areas home with the help of the railroads. Santa Fe was largely responsible for the settlement of the Southwest and Great Northern of the Northwest territories when there was just about nothing there. An enjoyable book to read with great illustrations.
