A poorly written rhyming book that did nothing to excite my child about an upcoming trip to Madrid! The text is excruciating rhyme and does not flow easily..."There is one thing you will find,That is, that as to being a city,Madrid is one of a kind.But all cities are originals, and this you well know.And it is NOT becauseI told you so!"The foods mentioned are "thing sweet" apples and carrots, and hot dogs. Spanish kids may indeed eat hot dogs but tell us about a traditional Spanish meal they typically enjoy. The photographs are dull and lifeless, (this maybe due to the printing process) and most are not captioned. All in all, a huge disappointment.
As a fellow author, I hate to give sad reviews, but I just can not say much good about this book. I write travel guides for children and recommend books for parents to read with or to children before a trip.This one has nice photos, but the poetry is just dull and the information introduced is minimal.
