I want to love this recipe book and meal plan. I purchased this with the assumption that 30-Day Whole Foods would be Whole 30 compliant... it is not. The recipes incorporate several non compliant ingredients including several grains and processed foods. I was very disheartened to discover this upon opening the book and saw that oats, quinoa, olive oil, honey and maple syrup were some of several "must have" items and in many recipes. Though the recipes are healthy and look to be great, it was NOT the Whole 30 cookbook I had hoped for. Such a waste :-(

Using this plan as a guideline for eating a whole food diet for January. So far I’m loving the recipes, and they are super healthy. One thing to note: this isn’t a Whole 30 plan not does it claim to be. The reviews that are complaining that this isn’t “compliant” aren’t really fair because it’s not a Whole 30 book. The focus is on unprocessed, dairy and gluten free, mostly vegan foods.

I love this book with the shopping lists, meal plans, and amazing recipes. I'm so sad to see reviewers complain that it is not whole 30 compliant because it never claimed to be. I rarely write reviews but felt compelled to speak up that this book is amazing for someone who wants to eat delicious unprocessed, fresh food and feel amazing.

Wonderful ingredient ideas! Will use them!But why are the ingredients in small light green ink? Can barely read them - tempted to use a magnifying glass.

What I love best about this book was the new interesting ingredients. I went through the pantry and refrigerated suggestions which led me to make my nut butter, breads and easy nutritious high energy meals to fuel my training. I’m excited to get on my indoor trainer or outside bike knowing I will be well equipped to accomplish what I need to for the day.

I've known Lori for gosh, almost 15 years now, so of course I was going to buy her cookbook she announced she was releasing one. I just started using the recipes this month and I have honestly LOVED every one I have made so far. I've had most of the staples on hand, and shop for the fresh items weekly. Recipes are simple, full of awesome ingredients, and delicious. I am excited to show all of them off to family and friends. Lori loves cooking and I must say, I was a bit nervous that her cookbook would be full of rare or hard to find ingredients, as I remember some of her food being like that. This is not so for this book. Totally doable! She is a legit dietitian who has a passion for her work and it shows.

This book was not whole 30 compliant at all! I was very excited about the meal planning for the weeks as starting this new diet is very stressful and I was not sure where to start... after all my research though I was very surprised to turn to the can eat cant eat page and find that everything listed on the "can eat" side was extremely wrong. Extremely disappointed.

This book is amazing! It literally plans everything for you so no more trying to figure out what to eat. It makes the transition to a plant based diet easy and tasty, and doesn’t require strange pantry ingredients. I live in a small town and between our Walmart and local grocery store I can find everything I need. I love the prep ahead section and shopping lists. The recipes are very easy to make and always taste delicious! This is a big deal because I’ve seen lots of other plant based books and recipes where the ingredient list is long and the instructions complicated. This book offers simple recipes, easy and short instructions, and often times the prep/cook time is fairly short. This book focuses on a Whole Foods way of eating, not a Whole30 meal plan. My husband and I have been on this for 4 weeks and we feel amazing. Noticed a difference in our energy, focus, and digestion in the first week!

About the Author

S¢ren Kierkegaard (1813-55) was born in Copenhagen, the youngest of seven children. His childhood was unhappy, clouded by the religious fervour of his father, and the death of his mother, his sisters and two brothers. Educated at the School of Civic Virtue, he went on study theology, liberal arts and science at university, gaining a reputation for his academic brilliance and extravagant social life. He began to criticize Christianity, and in 1841 broke off his engagement to concentrate on his writing. Over the next ten years he produced a flood of works, in particular twelve major philosophical essays, many written under noms de plume. By the end of his life he had become an object of public ridicule, but he is now enjoying increasing acclaim. Alastair Hannay was educated at the Edinburgh Academy, the University of Edinburgh and University College London. In 1961 he became a resident of Norway and is now Emeritus Professor of Philosophy at the University of Oslo.

Note: This review concerns the abridged Penguin paperback edition translated by Alastair Hannay.Now, a prefatory note to every reviewer who described this book as a "difficult" or "challenging" or "dense" read: You are all guilty of scaring me away from this book (and Kierkegaard in general) for over ten years. Sometimes I think there exists a very widely represented personality so jealous, stuffy, covetous, and academic that they sort of enjoy making a book appear too difficult for a general audience just so they can feel superior to everyone around them. I hate these little scholastic gremlins and I hope you suffer all the fates eternal of Prometheus, Tantalus, and Sisyphus combined.*A note to anyone worried this book is too hard to read: IT IS NOT DIFFICULT! It is all those adjectives I used in my review's title: "Lucid, Pithy, Wise, Engrossing, Accessible, Universal, Witty, Beautiful, Immediate, Personal, and Important." (That list comprises my definition of real art; therefore, Either/Or is real art.)I think Either/Or has been misfiled in bookstores and libraries: This is a work of literature, not philosophy. Like all great literature (and music and paintings and sculpture) Either/Or is innately philosophical but it is written in a kind of lyric, poetical narration that sets it far away from, say, Hegel or Kant. It reads a lot more like a Platonic dialogue or a classical invective. Kierkegaard is both Proust and Aurelius; Either/Or is both A Search for Lost Time and The Meditations.The book is also very clever and variegated: It's at times cynical, at times sorrowful, at times nihilistic, at times optimistic, and very often it is comedic to the degree that I burst out laughing (we laugh because a mirror has been held up to our eyes).Either/Or seems to be a book about everything, like Burton's The Anatomy of Melancholy or Hugo's Les Miserables: it is what Allan Bloom would have called "a total book." Kierkegaard has a talent for packing the contents of ten books into the clause of a single sentence. And when he is not being utterly concise Kierkegaard can do as good a job as Proust in teasing a whole universe out of fleeting and otherwise commonplace moments: He can slow the camera down to a halt and, to borrow a modern simile, like Morpheus pausing the Agent Training simulation in "The Matrix", walk about the scene commenting with nuance, grace, and an often wholly refreshing acerbity. I promise you will be rereading and quoting paragraph after paragraph--it's that good.To those worried readers I comfort you with this: You will fall in love with this book on page 43. That's the first page of the Diapsalmata section (the book is divided in two parts; this is the first). The Diapsalmata starts with a series of concise observations in a style similar to the Maxims of La Rochefoucauld, the Analects of Confucious, or the Pensees of Pascal; however, Kierkegaard renders his lines with a style eclipsing, at times, any other writer. This quality alone proves Kierkegaard a genius. (It also proves, one should add, the genius of the translator Alastair Hannay.)All Kierkegaard's more obscure allusions and metaphors are explained in a very complete notes section at the back of the book.To conclude: Either/Or is one of the best books I've ever read, full stop.Good luck!*Prometheus was tied to the side of a cliff and had his liver eaten every day; Tantalus was doomed to stand in a pool just out of reach of both water and food; Sisyphus was made to roll a boulder up a hill every day only to have it kicked back down the hill once it reached the top. Those Greeks sure knew how to punish didn't they?

I didn't realize it was abridged when I bought it. However the reason I bought this edition was to have it all in a single copy, so I did get what I ordered.Some 'Diapsalmata' were removed from part one. I enjoyed these passages and was slightly disappointed by this. One essay from part one is missing, as are later passages that make reference to it ('First Love, Comedy in One Act by Scribe, translated by J.L. Heiberg'). Other passages are truncated in various places, which hasn't bothered me so far (most omissions are in part two, and I haven't gotten there yet). I also suspect that combining the two parts into one volume also forced the translator to keep his annotations brief.

This review is of the Kindle version of the Hannay translation of Either/Or, a pioneering work of phenomenology and religious existentialism. It appears that the full edition (Hong translation)is about 800 pages (the main text) whereas the Hannay is about 600 pages. Even this abridged version was extremely taxing and took an enormous amount of time and concentration. For example, readers need to have at least - or quickly acquire! - the necessary background, such as the aesthetic theories of Aristotle and Hegel, Antigone and other Greek tragedies, the ethical theories of Kant and Descartes philosophy. Without these and others, which Kierkegaard doesn't always identify I certainly, and I'm sure others, would be unable to follow what's going on. I have found Stephen Evans introduction to Kierkegaard useful to this difficult work.I think a somewhat more expanded explanatory notes would have been useful. Part II has an entire section which appears to be a commentary on Kantian ethics without mentioning any sources so some more help would have guided the reader better, without having to go to the secondary literature. The Kindle table of contents had a few bad links but generally no problems.A word about reading a difficult "philosophical" text on Kindle. This was one the first times I tried it. For me, in retrospect, the costs outweighed the benefits. Unlike a work of fiction or an easier work which can be read more or less straight through, I found that a work that requires going back to previous sections and comparing passages and so on, difficult on kindle.

Dude this book is awesome. "Either" is an easy fun read. "Or" is a little tougher but will give you a lot to think about. Even though Kierkegaard wrote this so long ago, it's the most relatable philosophical book I've ever read! He's like eloquently describing things that I've experienced but never was able to understand or put into words. Real good! Read this!

I should have known what I was buying and that is my mistake for not seeking out the proper edition but this was a huge disappointment recieving the book to find out it was abridged. At the time of writing, there is no mention of abridgement on the Amazon page.

Every place on this continent is full of residents who need what the land already provides. Even the deserts have residents who live on what is available in those places. Even the coldest, remotest areas are not empty of life. When Mr. Scratch talks about the needs of other species, he is really talking about one species, the human species. He and his followers care for nothing else, which is why the terra indigene must care about all the rest. —Elliot Wolfgard, when asked to respond to Nicholas Scratch’s speech ***I’m in love with Meg and Simon really and even though there is so much more to the plot going on I adore the relationship those two share. It isn’t your normal kind of justice, there is no trial and the actions of a few will decide for the many. Examples will be made and eventually maybe some of the humans will learn and carry the tales on to their kin.This series is getting a little darker than it even started out. Sure there are fun moments but the humans who are a part of the Human First and Last movement are right up there with members of the Nazis Party. There are more deaths and brutal killings happening. The human pack keeps picking up new members but not because of happy situations, the lines have been drawn and more than one city is going to disappear.Overall the story is really quite engaging and I find it hard to put the book down once I start. Tess and her crazy hair is still one of my favorite characters and I would never want to get on her bad side. I still long for a little more movement on the Meg/Simon relationship front. It is going snail crawl slow but it does seem fitting for the story so I’ll let that go. My favorite moment was when some human situation was explained to a wolf adolescent who learned that foreplay didn’t mean there would be four people to play but something altogether different.The only issue I have are some of the repetitions of the previous stories to maybe sure you know what is going on. I don’t really need a refresher since I’m reading these one per week, but even if it was a year between books for me I think some of it is a little excessive. Still overall that didn’t skew my enjoyment of the book too much.A great series if you are looking for something original with a smidge or romance but not much.

This book. Holy crap this book! So, since I've been marathoning back through the series again, I've had the chance to really judge each of the books individually and against each other so to speak, and I think this may actually be the strongest of the entire series (possibly neck and neck with WRITTEN IN RED but honestly that was such a surprise of a phenomenal book that it's hard to judge it quite as objectively as the others LOL). Let me just say tho that man this book is a rollercoaster of a ride. EVERYTHING comes to a head in this book. It is easily the most violent of the series and more than a few of the violent scenes had an added level of heartbreak that just hit me right in the feels, you know? We met new allies and enemies, and the conflicts between the Others and the HFL finally come to the vicious climax the whole series had been building to. So so much happened in this book, y'all. It's one of those reads that is almost overwhelming in the sheer stakes and shifts back and forth across the continent to keep all of the players in "sight" or in... well prophecy as it were ;) Just yeah, this book is freaking phenomenal and my fave of the series, I think.

Here comes the crazy talk! Just warning you now. This book was difficult for me to read. It seemed awful slow especially in the beginning. Didnt seem to pick up for me until the 60% mark. I think that perhaps this book was different because she is laying the ground work for books 6 and 7 which supposedly are going to be in a different area and NOT Lakeside. I've yet to read 5 but ugh I dont know, I am on the fence. I like my Lakeside characters damn it! I'm all for introducing new places and characters but Lakeside doesnt seem finished to me. Their stories arent done! What happens with Simon and Meg? Will they pursue some sort of relationship? They cant end with book 5...just cant. Will Ms. Bishop leave us hanging where Simon and Meg and the others are concerned? Considering I havent read book 5 I am probably losing my mind for nothing. Just from what other reviewers say in future books and probably some speculation on their part its getting in my head. I love this series. I didnt at first and thought it was crazy! These characters and the story wiggled their way into my heart and well there it is! Okay crazy talk done!Here's my actual review! Okay major slow start but otherwise I enjoyed it by the end. This was absolutely horrible! The attacks on The Wolfgard left me heartbroken and pissed off. This had its funny moments but not near as many as previous books. Probably had a lot to do with the bad happening. The Elders and Elementals retaliate in a BIG way! Not everyone survives. Not many at all. What does this mean for the Humans who work closely with the Terra Indigene. Will HFL prevail and its leader Nicholas Scratch? So many things are going on in this book it can be hard to follow. Might seem scattered to some readers. I have to admit this isnt my favorite of the series. I probably will read book 5 but probably not until 6 is closer to being released because I have a feeling about book 5 and I'll leave it at that. I'm completely vested into this series so I cant stop now. :)

Mi profesor decía que lo que Don Quixote de la Mancha es para la cultura española, 100 años es para la cultura latina. Para mi, 100 años tiene la mejor terminación de cualquier libro que he leido. Que lo disfruten!

If there were more stars, I would give this book more. Garcia Marquez's writing is just exquisite -- just study the opening paragraphs of this book.He captures the atmosphere of this Caribbean part of Colombia masterfully using his magic realism style. It did help that I have a wonderful Spanish teacher who explained the connections and allusions to me. A visit to the region only intensified my love for this novel. I have a hard time though deciding whether I like Cien Años better or Love in the Times of Cholera. they are my two favorite books and I have read both several times in Spanish and English. It's even better in Spanish.

Fue un poco dificil al principio de seguir los personajes con el mismo nombre pero sobre todo es muy interesante como la novela se desarrolla, me gusta la creatividad y estilo de Garcia Marquez y es chistoso, comedia latina. Aun no acabo de leer toda la novela pero quiero commentar que la recomiendo mucho. Me recuerdo de todos mis viajes a sudamerica mientras leo la historia de cien anos de soledad. El libro me lleva ahi y Garcia Marquez pinta una imagen muy clara de la cultura de america latina. Es de veras el Don Quijote de Sudamerica! :D

It has been tough but indeed worth it to read.Marquez crate a chain of events that make the reader willing to read a little more so that you don't feel the pages flow under your fingers but it makes you feel the story like we were watching a movie printed on pages.Even without knowing all of the immense numbers of adjectives (Spanish is not my first language) which enrich every single pages, Marquez style of writing makes you understand anyway the profound essence of his sentences.The author dedicate profound description even to the characters that don't play a main role, making them part of the whole picture, without whom it would not look so great.Pages are pregnant of symbolisms and hidden meanings. Colors, characters, animals, objects are there for a reason, not just as embellishment.This is a remarkable master piece, as few in the modern literature. Make your self a favor and read it.

AGAIN, T.Troward was light years beyond his time in this world. He will change your outlook on life, world, and universe. I've read this book about 4 almost 5 times due to the fact I was involved in motorcycle accident and have been out of work. Was in the deepest darkest moments of my life, but after starting to read his lectures and " the law & the word" I've learned many useful affirmative tools and scientific prayer. I'm not big into religion at all but this guys writings are simply amazing and will teach you endless amounts on life, science, and how us humans operate! Stop reading my review and just put a few of his books in your cart and watch the magic of scientific prayer work in your life!!!!

This is an excellent companion to THE book (Domain-Driven Design: Tackling Complexity in the Heart of Software). The other book is very dense and takes a fair bit of effort to understand all the underlying ideas and how to translate them to implementation. This reference book is a clear summary to make sure that the entire team uses the same language for the process. Using the same terminology is critical for the success of any project, and this book can be used as a baseline for developers and customers as they work through the actual domain design process together to understand the business problem at hand. It's an easy read that stays out of any technical implementation details.

Every developer should read the Eric Evans classic on Domain Driven Design. The this companoin is great to have deskside.

I got this for free at a workshop with Eric Evans. There's nothing here that isn't in his main book, but it's a great, handy reference when looking up an idea. Most importantly, and why I gave it 5 stars, is that it's a fantastic way to get someone to read about DDD, folks that are important to the DDD process that would read an overview, but wouldn't read the full DDD tome.
